HKIEd and Eight School Sponsoring Bodies
In May 2014, The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) joined forces with eight major school sponsoring bodies to broaden school-based support and strengthen collaboration in teacher education.
The agreement covered professional development for in-service teachers, collaboration in conferences and educational events, field experience support, and scholarship opportunities for students aspiring to become teachers.
Highlights
- Eight major sponsoring bodies joined the collaborative framework.
- The agreement expanded support for curriculum development, workshops, and consultation services.
- Partnerships were designed to benefit schools, students, and the wider education sector.
The ceremony brought together representatives from HKIEd and sponsoring bodies that together support a substantial proportion of Hong Kong schools. The collaboration reflected a shared goal of advancing teacher quality and promoting innovation in teaching and learning.
This milestone laid an early foundation for the broader collaboration model that SPFEO continues to develop today.
